Our Champion Shaina Wins the Kickboxing World Championship

October 2016Our Champion Shaina brought home the World Title in Thai Kickboxing last Saturday October 22nd at the World Championships in Orlando, Florida. We couldn’t be happier for her, what an incredible achievement.Shaina first got the bug when her mum Gemma tried some kickboxing classes back in 2012. At the age of just 10, Shaina would watch her mum and then fell in love with the sport herself. She joined a kickboxing club and for the past 4 years she has been training hard, 3-4 hours every evening after school at Crawley Martial Arts Academy. This hard work and obvious talent paid off in April when she was crowned British Champion at the National Championships in Birmingham. This meant she was eligible to represent Britain at the Unified World Championships in the USA with the rest of the England Squad, but Shaina’s mum Gemma was struggling to find the funds to get her there.Shaina was interviewed about her victory by BBC Radio Sussex.
