A Private Ice Skating Lesson with Olympic Gold Winner!

Saturday morning saw a very excited Sussex family head over to Worthing Pop Up Ice Rink for an extraordinary private skating lesson with Olympic Gold Medal winner Robin Cousins!

Worthing Ice Rink closed its doors to the public for an hour while Mia Bird and Colin Stansbury from Bird Studios, with daughters Leila and Ivy, enjoyed some private tuition from this well loved sporting legend.

At the Starr Trust Winter Ball last November, Colin Stansbury made a bid for this once in a lifetime chance to skate with Robin Cousins who is also a Starr Trust Patron and who so very generously gave up his time.

Massive thanks to Robin, Colin and Mia, Susie and Phil Bradley for use of their pop up ice rink, to Debbie Ramsey who supplied a yummy full English breakfast in her pop up cafe on the rink and to the lovely Trish Starr who organised the event.

Worthing Pop Up Ice Rink is now in its 6th season and runs from November - February. Owners Susie and Phil Bradley also offer skating courses there for children.

Colin and Mia of Bird Studios together launched a degree and diploma programme 2 years ago for talented performing arts students called the Brighton Institute of Contemporary Theatre Training. Both Leila and Ivy attend this school.
