We were approached by Tom’s mother, who was looking for funding for her son. Tom, who is 17, is a promising young footballer, and his father aged just 38 had a stroke last year, meaning that his father is unable to work, and his mother is his full time carer. As a result money is extremely short in the household. Tom had been offered one of just 23 places at Crawley Town Football Club Youth on a three year scholarship starting in July, and he was desperate to attend as it his dream to be a professional footballer but the annual train fare from Tom’s house in Hampton to Middlesex is £2880. We were extremely happy to help Tom fulfill his dream by purchasing the train fare for him, and Tom started his scholarship in July. Tom has been signed with the reserves and also plays for the Surrey FA.
