Edward Starr Awards are for Young People aged 10-18 living in the BN post code area, who want to achieve more in their lives through their potential in sports, arts or education. We provide:
- financial grants up to £5000 to support training and development of skills
- where possible, opportunities for connections and mentoring through our wider network of local experts
Applicants for an Award must come from a low income background and fit one or more of the following criteria:
- don’t have family support
- experiencing difficulties in their lives
- have emotional, physical or learning challenges
Regardless of talent we are looking for applicants who need our support to help them grow as people. We are not necessarily looking for the next David Beckham or Jessie J, but looking to develop young people in our community to be the very best that they can be and achieve their untapped potential. We are looking for young people who see an opportunity for personal development but would be unable to move forward without our help. Edward Starr Awards are not about what you are now, but who you could become.
